A challenging series of progressive postures linking movement with breath. Based in ashtanga yoga, the posture sequence is memorized and the practice is repetitive to allow for an intimate exploration into the self by way of the body. Open to all, but some previous yoga experience is recommended. Heated to 80 degrees. Class size is limited. Reservations strongly suggested.
Yin yoga is distinguished from other methods of yoga by its use of long, slow, deep stretches. Performed primarily on the floor with the occasional use of props, these postures will initially create stretching in the muscles, but the longer holds will also address the deeper connective tissues stimulating blood flow and regrowth of new cells in the fascia. Over time, your joints and overall body will feel more fluid and at ease. Designed for all levels with a specific weekly focus. Bring a block and a bolster or cushion if you have one. The room will be warmed to 80 degrees. Class size is limited. Reservations strongly suggested.
